WHO defined as occupational stress is the response people may have when presented with work demands and pressures that are not matched to their knowledge and abilities and which challenge their ability to cope. Several studies reported that occupational stress influenced by certain psychological, organizational and demo-graphical factors in western context (Jeyaraj, 2013; Morrison, 2005; Berhem et al., 2004; Lewis, 1999). On the other hand in Indian context studies are lacking. The aim of current empirical research work is to examine that whether or not type of school, and gender work independently or interaction with each other are capable of generating variance in occupational stress in case of school teacher. Employing a (2)2 ex-post facto, non-experimental factorial design (fixed model) the two levels of type of school, i.e., residential and non-residential, the two levels of gender, viz. male and female were manipulated in the study. Employing the incidental cum random sampling technique, finally 120 teachers (60 males & 60 females) within the age range of 30 to 45 years were drawn randomly from different school run by Govt. of India at Chhattisgarh state to serve as subjects in the current research work. All the two independent variables were found to be potential enough in generating variance in occupational stress. Interaction was found significant for almost four components of occupational stress. Theoretical interpretations have been given. Keywords

The aim of the present study is to review the empirical studies to explore and examine the relationship between acculturative stress and coping strategies of foreign students. A literature search using JSTOR, J-Gate and Google Scholar database covers the period from 2000 to 2015, the authors acknowledged 17 peer reviewed studies (full text) gathering inclusion criteria. Search terms were Acculturation, acculturative stress, coping strategies, and foreign students. This search generate empirical studies which includes participants from Atrican, Arabian, Asian, Caribbean, Chinese, Korean, Hong Kong, Latino, Polish, Mexican, Norway and Somali countries. After examining different aspect of the 17 empirical papers, it was found that there is significant association between acculturative stress and coping strategies. However, findings are not agreed over the effectiveness of different coping strategies. Some studies reported, problem focused coping strategies are more effective rather than other two viz. emotional focused and avoidance focused coping strategies. Moreover, research on acculturative stress and coping strategies of foreign students has not yet been conducted in India. The theoretical and practical issues have been discussed. Keywords

The aim of the present piece of research work is to examine the predicting effects of personality dimensions, viz., extraversion and neuroticism on career maturity. Employing the correlational design 100 male students of Oraon tribe studying in class 10th within the age range 14-16 years were drawn randomly from different schools of Surguja District of the state of Chhattisgarh to serve as Ss. For assessing the criterion variable, i.e., career maturity, Career Maturity Inventory (CMI) by Gupta (1989) and for assessing the predicting variable viz., personality dimensions Junior Eysenck Personality Inventory by Helode (1985) were used. Multiple regression analysis was used to examine for predicting effects of personality dimensions. Extraversion and Neuroticism have emerged as significant predictors of career maturity. The theoretical implications have been discussed. Keywords

The aim of the present paper is to examine and explore the research status, trom the relevant research literature, on the relationship between personality variables and marital satisfaction. It further contributes our knowledge of understanding by reviewing scientific research literature published over the last thirteen years. Review papers, articles and empirical studies were searched trom eleven scientific database. The methodological assessments of each paper were examined using six parameters viz., research design, validity coetficient of criterion measure on own data, reliability coefficients of criterion measure on own data, validity or reliability coefficients of different predictor measure, statistical analyses and reported etfect size. The most trequently predictors included neuroticism, agreeableness, conscientious, extraversion, openness to experience, impulsivity, immature defense mechanism, communication, attachment, emotional stability and spousal support. There have been many problems with the theory and empirical work in this area. The critical review includes both theoretical and empirical implication. Keywords

The present paper attempts to find out the characteristics related to the behaviour of intellectually disabled children in classroom setting in relation to social maturity. Intellectually disabled children were taken from special schools for the mentally retarded children of Chhattisgarh. Total 60 mentally retarded children were categorized into two groups with high and low on social maturity to find out its effect on classroom behavior. The age of the children were ranging between 7 to 14 years. The Vineland Social Maturity Scale (VSMS) was employed to assess the social maturity of children. After the keen observation of the behavior of children ten specific behavior were identified viz., out of the seat behavior, pulling and hitting behavior, odd mannerism, rebellious behavior, play with other children, self play, working with teaching aid, sitting quietly and observing other, showing caring attitude towards others, showing self made things to others for the study. The result indicated that ten behaviour varied significantly according to the social maturity of subjects. The results were explained in the light of Denny's theory of span theory of intelligence of mental retardation. Keywords
